"Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words." - Plautus
This past Saturday, we were able to enjoy a wonderful private tasting at Potomac Point Winery for one of my best friend's birthday. Her husband organized a sweet surprise party and included all of her closest friends. The guests were able to enjoy a tasting in the cellar at the winery as well as enjoy lunch afterwards.
Today, I am sharing my wonderful experience at Potomac Point Winery, in Stafford, Virginia.
The wine selection was amazing, and we were so lucky to have a wonderful staff host us. We tasted about 10 wines, and all of them were pretty spectacular!
G and I purchased three wines to take back home with us. As you guys know, we are red wine drinkers.
Cabernet Franc
The Cab Franc was wonderful, and was one of my favorites from the tasting. It was so smooth, and had a slight hint of pepper notes. I cannot wait to age this bottle for a bit, because it's absolutely stunning on the palette!
Abbinato
This wine has floral aromas. There are flavors of dried herbs with hints of tobacco. It is a medium bodied wine with soft tannins. It's a wonderful wine and we cannot wait to open it up!
Merlot
The Merlot smelled of cherry and plum with a hint of floral notes. Also, the wine had hints of toasty oak, vanilla, and mocha. It was definitely a full bodied wine, but so delicious!
Enjoy!
