Uncorked: Saude Creek Vineyards

"I eat whatever I want. I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable." - Gwyneth Paltrow

October is one of my favorite months. It is the start of cooler weather, my husband’s birthday, and Virginia Wine Month.

One of my favorite Virginia wineries isn’t too far from home, and has some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. Also, their wine isn’t too bad either. They have some of the best reds we have ever tried, and the staff is amazing.

Saude Creek Vineyards, is simply amazing, and today I am sharing my favorite wines - which all happen to reds.

Uncorked: Fall Wines

“I eat whatever I want. I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable.” - Gwyneth Paltrow

Now that the season is slowly changing, and the air’s getting a bit more chilly … I’m switching up the wines we drink at home.

During the warmer months, I love a nice glass of champagne, rosé or crisp chardonnay. Yet, during the fall and winter I lean towards nice full bodied reds.

Today, I’m sharing a few food and wine pairings for the new season. There are some perfect red wines for the cooler months that are ahead of us, and guess what … you don’t have to give up that delicious rosé either . Also, I’m featuring a few of my favorite types of wines to stock your wine cabinet or fridge with as well.

Happy Hour

"Take life with a pinch of salt, a shot of tequila and a wedge of lime, do nothing at all, but take your time." - John Walter Bratton

As you all know, wine is one of my favorite things to drink. But, when I'm not drinking a nice glass of wine, I'll occasionally indulge in Casamigos Tequila. I'm a huge fan of the Blanco Tequila - which is the typically known as Silver. For me, it's much more smooth and very enjoyable.

Today, I'm sharing a cocktail that I have been making for years. It is super easy to make and so delicious.

What you'll need:

  • Your favorite Tequila, mine is Casamigo's
  • Simply Limeade
  • Prosecco or Champagne
  • Lime
  • Salt (optional)

Step 1: Pop open that champagne or prosecco! I prefer a more dry champs with this cocktail. Pour 1/3 of the bubbly into the flute.

Step 2: Pour 1/3 of fresh squeezed lime juice or limeade into your glass! I use the Simply Limeade, it is so delicious, also it's much faster than squeezing limes!

Step 3: Finish off the glass with a shot of tequila into your cocktail!

Step 4: Enjoy!

I hope you love this wonderful summer cocktail!
